About Moof

Born in Britain, raised in Spain, baked at 35º for way too long, Giles Antonio Radford is your average tea-drinking, travel-obsessed, hat-wearing, neurodivergent queer geek found in a train station near you....

Who

I'm Moof, known professionally as Giles Antonio Radford.

Where

I currently live in Barcelona, Spain, although I do spend a lot of my time travelling.

Online, you can also find me socialising with a cup of tea on the fediverse, a decentralised social media network. This content is also mirrored on BlueSky, but if you want me to see your replies, you need to follow @ap.brid.gy.

What

I spent the 20 years leading up to August 2024 working for a Spanish group of companies in various IT, management, and board member roles, including CIO, and CEO. I have specialised in the Logistics sector, and ERPs, including the more complex areas of Spanish Tax Law.

Currently, I am a part-time consultant for ERP implementations, both to help companies identify, automate and optimise their processes, and also to help companies trying to set up their systems for Spanish VAT.

I am also doing my own mobile programming projects, though mostly in stealth mode until I have something I can present.

Why

The internet is full of people with stories to tell and opinions to impart - in that, I am no different than many. I also have a number of friends and family who like to keep up with what I'm doing, and keep asking me to update them, and this is an attempt to do that.

I am openly queer and neurodivergent. Whilst it is not all of who I am, it's certainly an important part of me, and I feel it is incumbent on me, as a person who has had a measure of success, to be visible to the community.

How

I'm using a self-hosted Ghost instance on Hetzner to host this blog. I do a lot of the writing offline on Obsidian, and publish using the send to ghost plugin.
